6 in 1 instant Mobile Containerised Buildings

The "6 in 1" is a 12m shipping container which is transported as a single high cubed container and unfolds into an instant double story building.

The core of the container is a kitchen and store room with a top floor that is big enough to seat 150 people.

These containers can then be used in a wide range of applications, including: schools, clinics, promotional events or even for military purposes.

MICTI Incubator

It is widely recognised that a key factor in the growth of developing economies is the growth of small and medium sized private sector businesses and also that small businesses are at their most vulnerable in the early stages of their existence.  It is also widely recognised that for a country to compete in the global information economy of the 21st century it will need an efficient and effective ICT sector.  In Mozambique, both the private business sector generally and the ICT sector specifically are immature.

This Incubator, part of the broader Mozambique ICT Institute (MICTI) project, is being established to address both of these issues.  The MICTI Incubator has as its central aim:

“To assist small and medium sized ICT businesses, through the provision of high quality facilities and services, to develop into successful and economically viable entities that will contribute to the economic and employment growth of Mozambique”

It is a long-term vision for building ICT skills and capacity in Mozambique facilitated by synergising the energies and contributions of the Government, academia, the domestic and international private sector, as well as development and donor agencies. The Programme will contain three components:

  • The Research and Learning Component
  • The Incubator Component
  • The Technology Park Component

Limpopo Government

Shared Open Access Broadband Wide Area Network Infrastructure Project

A project aimed at creating a broadband telecommunication network for the greater Limpopo region. This project will extend information and communication access to rural communities within the Limpopo Province.

The vision is to build a single, multi-service network, managed and provided by a single service aggregator, based on mainstream products and services, which will be implemented in a phased approach that will include events and projects of national importance such as the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The long term strategic objective of the provincial open access broadband wide area network programme is to provide affordable, true broadband connectivity to the provincial government departments including educational and health institutions, district and local municipalities, businesses, and ultimately all residents of Limpopo Province, particularly in rural areas where market forces have failed. The programme will attract multinational companies, ICT entrepreneurs and talented workers to stay or move to the province, supporting economic development, investment and talent attraction. Every citizen of Limpopo should have access to this infrastructure (information).
